Description
INCLUSIVE EXCELLENCE: From Competition to the Classroom
Join us as we explore the intersection of student-athletes and disability.
This day-long symposium will bring in leaders in the area of concussion management, testimonials from athletes and coaches, and best practices from practitioners of both the campus disability services and athletics academic support offices.
Our keynote speaker, Marci Ridpath, sums up the intention of our symposium well: "Building a bridge between the athletics department and the campus disability office is a key to widening the circle of support for student-athletes with disabilities."
We will also employ an "unconference" element where throughout the morning attendees will determine the topics of two afternoon sessions.
The symposium will be held on the grounds of the University of Virginia, in the Albert and Shirley Small Special Collections Library Auditorium, Friday, June 28th from 9:30-4:30.
Attendance is limited! Be sure to register early.
Detailed information can be found on the symposium web page.
